I’m Danielle Meitiv, M.S.. I’m a scientist, health coach, and mother of two. And like you, I have Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.
I’ve had Hashimoto’s for nearly three decades and have suffered through many of the worst symptoms:
Weight gain. Fatigue and brain fog. Body aches and joint pain. Depression and lack of motivation. Dry skin and hair loss. Bloating and poor digestion. Itchy hives and mysterious allergies. Insomnia and exhaustion no matter how much I slept.
Does any of this sound familiar? If so, you’re in good company. Over 14 million people have been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s in the US alone–that’s 4% of the entire adult population!–and experts believe that the number of undiagnosed people is much much higher
Hashimoto’s is the most common autoimmune disorder and the most common cause of hypothyroidism or an under-active thyroid.

I probably had Hashimoto’s for nearly two decades before I was properly diagnosed–and that was only because I asked my doctor to run the right tests. Like many of you, I was prescribed medication–levothyroxine, often known by it’s brand name Synthroid–and was told that was all that I could do.
But I still felt awful! My thyroid medication replaced some of the hormone that my thyroid wasn’t making, but it did nothing to deal with the underlying autoimmune condition that made my thyroid wonky in the first place!
No, that was up to me.
I wish I could tell you that I immediately figured out what I needed to do to dial down the autoimmune attack, heal my Hashimoto’s, and get my life back. Not so. It took lots of reading, researching, and self-experimenting.
I tried all kinds of diets, treatments, supplements, and lifestyle practices before I found that the ones that worked.
The ones that allowed me to regain my health and send my Hashimoto’s into remission.
But I did–and I’m here to share my knowledge so you can do the same.
